Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Facilitator

(Ankara-Tunceli-Muş-Bitlis-Balıkesir) (Work duration two (2) months)

Summary:

Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Facilitators will be responsible for facilitating RE sessions to provide the communities with key risk education messages and information.

The Facilitator’s purpose is to facilitate the training and education and awareness of landmines, Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) resulting in reduced risk behavior within affected communities.

Duties;

  • Demonstrate commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Communicate efficiently with multiple teams/employees of different backgrounds or nationalities.
  • Report to Team Leader/Manager as required
  • Conduct EORE sessions/activities in targeted communities following the operational plan as prepared by the Team leader.
  • Train key people in the communities to become EORE trainers;
  • Function as interviewer during assessments of targeted communities;
  • Function as data collector in targeted communities;
  • Function as community liaison between stakeholders/actors;
  • Maintain good communication with partner organizations;
  • Maintain good relationships with other mine action interventions in the area including those involved in survey, marking and clearance to ensure good coordination and shared knowledge;
  • Keep records and provide feedbacks to iMFAD EORE program.
  • The EORE Facilitator responsibilities include

Interviewing staff and managers to assess training needs

Designing training curriculum and training aids

Organizing in-house and offsite activities, like presentations, job simulations and role-playing exercises

  • Any other business as required by iMFAD.

Requirements

  • Turkish nationality is essential.
  • Female,
  • Undergraduate degree; or Graduate degree of education/teaching methods
    • English is plus
    • Communication: Strong communicator, negotiating, facilitating and presenting
      • Computer literacy and excellent working knowledge of MS Office software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
        • Have no obstacle to travel;

Preferred Experiences

  • 2 years or more experience in education
  • Experience in facilitating RE/awareness in communities
  • English is plus

Working Conditions

  • The EORE Facilitator will work mostly in the field (Tunceli-Bitlis-Muş). S/he will usually work within basic working hours unless there’s a need for her/him to meet deadlines. Most of the time, is only required to work on a weekday.
